The Global Center for Advanced Studies (GCAS) is pleased to announce a few updates on our World-Conference, “Democracy Rising“.  FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

1.  Our President, Alain Badiou will address the conference.

2. Jerome Roos will be speaking.

Jerome Emanuel Roos (1985) is a writer, activist and filmmaker. Educated in International Political Economy at Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics, he is now a PhD Researcher at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the European University Institute in Florence. He is the founder and editor of ROAR Magazine, an online journal of the radical imagination.

Jerome has appeared for interviews on Al Jazeera, BBC World and RT News, among others. His pieces have been translated into dozens of languages, republished on hundreds of blogs and independent news sites, and cited by The Guardian, The New York Times, Adbusters, Wired, WikiLeaks, and various other media outlets. He writes a weekly column for TeleSUR English, which is syndicated by ROAR and ZNet.

3. Prof. Hilary Wainwright will be speaking.

Hilary Wainwright is a British sociologist, political activist and socialist feminist, best known for being editor of Red Pepper magazine.
